Take equal parts Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Super Metroid and the technical prowess of today’s consoles; put them together and you’ll get Shadow Complex. As the standout Xbox Live Arcade game of the year, Shadow Complex has erased the public’s preconceived notions of what a downloadable title can be, and what the next year might have to offer. For every great game there is an equally poor one. It is called natural order, or the great balancing act. Whichever attribute one applies to the nature of the gaming scene, Raven Squad sits at the very bottom of the heap, promising to make every game that came before and after look that much better. christopherparkChris Park is acting as our correspondent in his spare time out at E3 in Los Angeles this week. After waking in San Fransisco at 1 a.m. and making the five-hour trek to the Los Angeles Convention center today, Park sat in on the Sony Computer Entertainment Press Conference.
