command and conquer

wowtrollAll right, the long-awaited contest we’ve been promising the fine readers of Pads & Panels is finally here. We’ve decided to clear out some of the prizes we have collected in the office over the last few months in a grab-bag style contest that will last through next week. Each prize will go in a different manner, starting with at least one today. They may be given away on the main site, through email, or on our Twitter feed (@padsandpanels), or even our Facebook fan page, so you’ll want to add us everywhere and be on your toes.

Everybody (meeting our usual guidelines) is eligible for this contest, but you can only win once in this series of giveaways. As we pick winners by various methods, we will allow those winners to each pick one (1) item from what is left of the following list of items for a prize. Good morning, readers! I just wanted to send out a quick note to remind everyone that our review of Gran Turismo PSP will be posted today. So for those participating in our contest, start your engines. The review will post around 11 a.m. Central Standard Time.

Thanks to everyone who checked out our site for the first time this week, and loyal readers who have kept with us. We’ll be doing another contest next week in which we’re planning to give out a prize each day in a grab bag format.  We have a World of Warcraft action figure, Command and Conquer t-shirts and more. So make sure to come back and check it out!

The week after that will bring with it Comic-Con coverage starting July 23, so get ready for some big comics news and event coverage. But focusing on next week, expect reviews of… (more…)

candcboxTitle: Command and Conquer Red Alert 3: Ultimate Edition

Platform: PS3

ESRB Rating: T

Publisher: Electronic Arts

Developer: EA Los Angeles

Rating: ★★★½☆

Review by: John Gustafson

Red Alert 3 makes definite strides in refining and improving the RTS experience in the Command and Conquer series but also makes damaging design choices specific to consoles that hamper the overall enjoyment.

Longtime fans will love the campy story with accompanying live action videos featuring respected actors and personalities.
