Who wouldn’t want a Chocobo avatar for his or her Xbox Live account? That’s a silly question.

Roughly two weeks ago, Microsoft started a “Register, Tweet and Win” application to unlock a Final Fantasy XIII prize, in an effort to promote the game and addition of Twitter to Xbox Live. Last week, Microsoft revealed that the item is a free Chocobo for the Xbox Live avatar. Thousands reportedly tweeted with the tag to unlock it, but according to Microsoft anyone can reap the benefits of their hard work…er…Tweeting.

People who already registered will receive a redemption code for the Chocobo this holiday season, Microsoft said. But it’s not too late to get in on the action. Xbox Live users interested in acquiring one can do so by registering before codes are distributed in late December, the publisher said.
