2010 Holiday Gift Guide – For the Wii Exclusive Fan…
By P&P Staff
Disney Epic Mickey
The game that’s going to put Mickey back on the map. After months of screenshots, trailers and unfortunate revelations of what might have been, the wait is finally over. Designer Warren Spector took up Disney’s cause to make the mouse relevant once more. Old-school Disney fans will get a kick out of the nods to the company’s extensive history (such as the inclusion of the recently reacquired character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit). For an extra flourish, throw in the limited edition Wii Epic Mickey Paintbrush Nunchuk.

Nintendo Wii Red Bundle
Nintendo always has a way of appealing to the late adopters. In the latest attempt to summon money from such gamers’ pockets, they’ve released a commemorative red Wii to honor the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. For a little extra coin, you can even include the Wii version of Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition for a truly old-school experience.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn
Kirby’s back…kinda. Nintendo has gone a very different direction with the pink ball of fluff this time around. For starters, he’s no longer a ball of fluff. In an art style more akin to titles like Paper Mario and Yoshi’s Story, this newest chapter in Kirby’s adventures turns the titular hero into random bits of yarn. It seems like a bad idea, but Nintendo has a way of making magic out of madness.

Donkey Kong Country Returns
DK’s back…for reals! No longer the king of swing or asserting his jungle beat with a one-trick peripheral, Donkey Kong Country Returns brings back the classic gameplay Rare made so popular back in the mid-1990s. Those who preordered the game will receive the exclusive banana peel sleeve for the Wii Remote. It doesn’t add anything to the gameplay, but does make for an embarrassing gag gift.

James Bond 007: Goldeneye
Be the man with the golden…controller in this update to the classic N64 game. With a multitude of weapons and characters to choose from, the possibilities are endless for multiplayer mayhem. Speaking of multiplayer, the online battles with up to 8 players, opportunities to gain XP and unlockable achievements will almost make you think you’re playing this on another system.
